As a lifelong United fan who’s seen it all from the Treble to the tough post-Fergie years, this 3-1 victory over Aston Villa feels like a statement. Michael Carrick’s side just keeps delivering under his interim charge – that’s now seven league wins in nine since he took over, and we’re firmly in the driving seat for that all-important Champions League spot.
